FABRIZIO ARRIETA

Still Painting
solo exhibition
nov / 2014

Exercising “painting” as a visual language that asks today about its own mechanisms of transformation, its possible meanings, directions and diffuse borders, about its potential and limitations - after so many “deaths” of the pictorial decreed since the 19th century and To this day, Fabrizio Arrieta cites recognizable elements: the strength of color or design can require the distortion of figures and touch the limits of abstraction. His painting renounces the idea of totality, making visible the fragments and digital media that participate in the cutting, editing, and assembly process. That “trace of indecision”, the visible cutout, is perhaps the greatest contribution of his proposal: a possible place for the viewer.
